The term “Hot Spot” refers to overheating an area of a solar panel. This temperature rise may result from a drop in the electrical current output in one or more cells of a string. Dropout occurs from shading, dirt, dust, snow, and manufacturing defects.
In a standard module, the impact of shading on a single cell affects an entire string, while a HOT-SPOT FREE AE SOLAR SMART MODULE loses the output of only a single cell during shading.
